2026 Farm Camping Season: April 2nd – November 15th

Our rustic creekside farm camping sites provide a peaceful setting to rest, relax, and recharge while exploring the Blue Ridge Parkway, the crooked roads of Floyd, and the mountain communities of Southwest Virginia. Fall asleep to the sounds of Pine Creek, peeper frogs, and distant cows while enjoying dark skies filled with stars.

For groups, riders traveling together, or guests looking for a more budget-friendly stay, our open field camping areas offer fire pits, picnic tables, pond views, and plenty of room to spread out and enjoy life on the farm. Away from city lights, the fields provide some of the best stargazing opportunities on the property.

Crooked Mountain is designed primarily for tent camping and welcomes motorcycle travelers, bicyclists, car campers, van campers, truck campers, and small teardrop trailers at most creekside sites. We focus on providing a relaxed, rustic farm camping experience rather than a traditional RV park atmosphere. (Please note: we do not offer water or septic hookups.)

Our Farm Camping Sites

Crooked Mountain offers 15 rustic farm camping sites spread throughout the property. Sites 1–6 and Site 12 are peaceful creekside sites along Pine Creek, Sites 7–11 are open field camping sites, and Sites 13–15 are located near the pond with views of the surrounding farm and mountains.

Five sites (Sites 1, 12, 13, 14, and 15) offer limited 30/20 amp electric service for guests needing basic power access while enjoying the farm experience.

All sites include a picnic table and fire ring, and several creekside sites also feature hammock areas for relaxing beside the creek.

Illuminated site numbers help guests find their way after dark. For detailed site information, dimensions, current photos, and availability, please visit our Hipcamp and Harvest Hosts pages.

Check-in for farm camping sites begins at 3:00 PM, and check-out is by 12:00 PM the following day.

Pets are always welcome on the farm but should remain leashed while exploring outside your site. Please help us protect the flowers and farm experience by keeping pets out of the flower fields.

Centrally located portable restrooms, a private changing area, and handwashing stations are available for guests staying on the farm. Additional guidelines and helpful information can be found at the bottom of the page.

To help preserve the relaxed, low-density atmosphere of the farm, we do not offer long-term camping sites. Maximum stay length is 14 consecutive days..‍ ‍

Catch n’ Release Fishing in the pond

We’ve had a lot of questions about our pond. We constructed the pond in the winter of 2023 primarily as an agricultural pond after finding a natural spring in the field. After construction we started stocking the pond.

In 2025, we opened the pond to fishing for campers only. If you book a campsite on Hipcamp, you can add fishing as an extra, or pay at the store when you check in.

Cost:

Adults - $10 a day.

Veterans/First Responders - $8 a day

Kids (12 & under) - $5 a day

We have rod rentals ($5), and basic tackle in the store.

The pond has been stocked with catfish, bluegill, redear, large mouth bass, and minnows.
